Design Builder

Church Edit comes with a range of templates for use on your site. However you may want to customise one of these designs or create your own one from scratch using the Church Edit design builder which will allow you to customise the look of your website.

To modify or create a new design login to Global Office and go to Settings > Choose Template. From the drop down that appears select Custom Design.

NOTE:

If you just want to modify the banner then see the help file ‘Changing the banner’.

Create New Template

If you want to create a new design from scratch then select the Create New Template option to load the design builder. This is for use if you have your own website design that you want to use for the site.

Modify Existing Template

If you want to modify an existing design or a Church Edit template then select Modify Existing Template

How the design builder works

There are 7 tabs in the design builder which either allow you to customise the location of the style divs, or to define the styles being used.

You can create the divs you require for your design and upload any images that are part of the design. There are a number of Edit TAGS that can be placed in the design which when displayed on the page will replace the TAG with the content.

So for the tag  will be placed in your code. When the site is displayed to the user, this tag will be replaced by the actual content of the page.

The tabs are:

Design CSS
This should hold the main CSS for the design

Calendar CSS
This should hold the CSS for the different calendar styles

Text CSS
This should hold the CSS for the text styles

Menu CSS
This should hold the CSS for the menus
